Fun with Java Programming For Beginners

Java is the most popular programming language being used for application development in the industry today.

Get a head-start by learning Java to hone your programming skills to perfection.

This beginners course introduces participants to the Java Language and the concept of Object Oriented Programming where students learn how to model real-world scenarios into live working applications.

Who should attend this workshop?

Beginners who have no programming experience and wish to build their programming skills in Java.

Structure of the Workshop

  • Duration - 5 Days x 3 hrs (total 15 hrs)
  • Small Class Size: maximum 7 students
  • Hands-On Task based classroom teaching

What do you need to bring?

  • Water Bottle
  • Notebook & Pen for recording purposes
  • Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptops.

What will you learn?

This is a 75% hands-on workshop where students will be equipped with skills in "Design Based Thinking", "Programming Logic Flow" and "Writing Modular Based Programs". At the end of the workshop, students will have written several Java programs used to solve various tasks that model real-world problems faced in our daily lives.

  • Introducing Java Keywords
  • Java Syntax for creating new variables
  • Assigning values to variables

Module 4: First Java Program & How Java Works

  • Creating a new Java Program in Eclipse
  • Using the main method to execute a simple Java program
  • Process - From Source Code to Execution

Module 5: Operators

  • Arithmetic Operators for mathematical computations
  • Logical Operators for conditional flow

Module 6: Decision Constructs

  • If, If-else structures
  • Using logical & arithmetic operators with decision constructs

Module 7: Repetitive Statements
