Event description
Join us for this two-part series: Part 1: Review Full Spectrum Educators Guide Part 2: Apply the Guide to a lesson from your curriculum

About this Event

Teaching LGBTQ+-inclusive sexual health education is challenging for many schools- practices evolve quickly and previously-developed lessons can become outdated. Join Andrea Nicoletta of Planned Parenthood of Northern New England and Mara Iverson of Outright Vermont online for this two-part series. The goal: to improve skills needed to include students of all identities and orientations in sexual health education- whether online or in-person.

Part One, Wednesday, February 10, 3:30-4:30pm: We will review the Agency of Education’s Full Spectrum: Educators’ Guide to Implementing LGBTQ+ Inclusive Sex Ed and discuss current (and forthcoming) resources.

Part Two, Wednesday, March 10, 3:30-4:30pm: We will use the Guide to review existing lesson plans and practices, working together to demonstrate how the principles work in practice.

It is strongly recommended that participants attend both Part One and Part Two live as scheduled. In limited situations if requested, we will make a recording of Part One available for folks who would like to attend Part Two but are not able to attend Part One. Folks should plan to attend or view the recording of Part One before attending Part Two. Part Two will not be recorded as it's intended as a working session rather than a workshop.

Pre-registration is required.

Please note, you will have to register for Parts 1 and 2 separately. Part 1 is considered a pre-requisite for Part 2. You may choose to only attend Part 1. If you would like to attend Part 2, please make space to attend Part 1. Register for Part One here.

We reserve the right to deny entry or remove individuals at this event in order to ensure the safety and security of all attendees.
