Event description

Description

Why is March called the worm moon?

The vernal equinox marks the end of winter, and the start of spring and the Full Moon is named after the earthworms that emerge at this time of year. Northern Native American tribes knew this moon as the Full Crow Moon when the cawing of crows signalled the end of winter. ... To the settlers, it was also known as the Lenten Moon.
