Event description
Applying Authentic African History And Principles to Educate the Black Child

About this Event

The Auburn Avenue Research Library, in collaboration with, The Weems Firm, Inc. and The Committee on African American History and World Perspectives will host bestselling author, historian, and veteran teacher Professor Kaba Hiawatha Kamene and international educator Dr. Chike Akua for a thought-provoking conversation on culture and education.

This public lecture is designed to equip educators and parents with the Ancient African history needed to successfully educate Black children. It is believed that academic astuteness and self-confidence are significantly enhanced when students have a positive reflection of self. This dynamic duo will discuss the range of positive outcomes possible when students understand their ancestral connection to the creation of math, science, languages, and great civilizations.

Professor Kamene is a 30-year veteran educator from the New York City school system. His books, Honoring Professor William Leo Hansberry, “An intellectual Libation for the Architect of America’s African Studies Department and his latest release, Spirituality Before Religions, are international bestsellers.

Dr. Chike Akua is a professor of Educational Leadership at Clark Atlanta University and the renowned author of Education for Transformation, “The Keys to Releasing the Genius of African American Students”.
