Event description

Description

Fulfill is a micro-granting initiative inspired by community-based organizations such as Sunday Soup and Philly Stake. For a $20-30 donation you will be served a delicious, locally sourced meal in dishware made by the Tyler School of Art Ceramics and Glass Departments, with napkins created by the Fibers & Material Studies Department. All of the money raised will be evenly re-granted to three non-profit organizations: Acting Without Boundaries, Hand2Paw, and Juntos.

________________________________________________________________________________________________

Acting Without Boundaries (AWB) was established in 2004 to provide one-of-a-kind acting and theatrical opportunities for children, teens and young adults with physical disabilities. The primary goal of AWB is to provide young people from the disabled community with the rare opportunity to pursue their love of acting and performing while building their self-confidence and developing an enhanced belief in themselves and their abilities.

Hand2Paw is a nonprofit that empowers young adults ages 18-21 to volunteer in the city’s animal shelters. The youth volunteers provide hundreds of hours of care, training, grooming, and socialization to thousands of Philadelphia’s shelter animals, ensuring these animals remain stimulated, happy, and behaviorally sound as they await their adoptive homes. Hand2Paw also empowers the young adult volunteers to learn marketable skills in working directly with animals, allowing them to fulfill meaningful employment in the future.

Juntos is a community-led, Latinx immigrant organization in South Philadelphia fighting for human rights as workers, parents, youth, and immigrants. They believe that every human being has the right to a quality education and the freedom to live with dignity regardless of immigration status. Juntos combines leadership development, community organizing, and focused collaborations with other community-based and advocacy organizations to build the power of our community members so they may be active agents of change and work against their own oppression.
