Event description

Description

Welcome to FuckUp Nights Melbourne! For our last storytelling event of the year, we are partnering with IE Digital to end the year with a bang!

Over the past year, we've had over 4,000 people come along to hear from 40+ speakers open their hearts and bare their souls. Our speakers and attendees have created an amazingly supportive community, and we couldn't be prouder of what FuckUp Nights Melbourne has turned into, and we can't wait to see what 2018 brings!

FuckUp Nights is a global movement born in Mexico in 2012 to share public business failure stories with hundreds of people attending each event around the world. Each month speakers will be invited to talk about their FuckUp stories; we’ll learn about their biggest mistakes, what they learned, how they moved on- all whilst sharing invaluable advice along the way.

The speakers will candidly share in 15 minutes:
* What their project / business was
* What went wrong / How it affected their personal life / What they learned / What they would do differently.

Speaker 1: Rhys Hayes - Co-Founder and CEO of IE Digital, Co-Founder of FoyerLive

Rhys is the Founder and CEO of IE Digital, the innovation and experience company. Throughout his 17 year career, he has founded 6 companies and is hugely passionate about digital transformation.

Since the beginning, IE has been able to create innovative solutions to help drive change for organisations. IE’s first major campaign launch was for 7-Eleven, when the agency created Slurpee Brainfreeze, Australia’s first ever real-time online game. From there, IE produced the first ever e-commerce page on Facebook for Nike, and prior to the iPad’s first launch, begun development of an iPad application for Lonely Planet.

Rhys is an entrepreneur at heart and enjoys discussing the learnings he’s gleaned along the way to building one of Australia’s most successful digital companies.

At the end of each person’s story, you’ll have a chance to ask questions- nothing too cheeky, but feel free to dig around. You’ll hear stories and advice you won’t get elsewhere - and these stories will (hopefully) put you in good stead to not make the same fuckups.

Attendance is free, but we do ask you to register in advance.
