FT Engage: Closing the Gender Gap
Wed, April 19, 2017, 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM BST
Join us for a conversation about women in the corporate world - what things look like today and what a future might look where men and women were more equal.
Women make up a majority of university graduates in the UK yet remain underrepresented in management and leadership positions of many companies. Those women who do make it up the ladder often earn less than men at the same level. At the current pace, closing the gender pay gap would take another 24 years and could boost female earnings by about £85bn a year.
Join Brooke Masters, FT Companies Editor, Laura Noonan, Investment Banking Correspondent, and guests for a conversation about what companies are actually doing to attract, retain and promote women. What is working and what hasn't worked in the past? What is the difference between unequal pay and the gender pay gap, and how are companies approaching these challenges? What is the solution?
Doors will open at 6:00pm. The conversation will begin at 6:30pm, with drinks to follow until 8:30pm.
