We’re going back to Texas!
About this event
On July 17th - two years since our first action at Fort Sill, Tsuru for Solidarity will return to Texas to join local and national immigrant rights organizations to protest the use of the Fort Bliss military base as a detention site for 2,400 immigrant children.
In WWII, Fort Bliss was a U.S. Army Internment Camp that detained 91 Japanese Americans.
Now, the U.S. is creating an expansive network of unregulated influx and intake detention sites for children outside of international human rights mandates. Read an op-ed from Satsuki Ina on the use of influx and intake sites.
We are returning to Texas to stand with directly impacted communities in ways that we needed during WWII.
NO MORE U.S. CONCENTRATION CAMPS!
