FSI's International Freedom Forum
Event Information
About this Event
They were born in North Korea, but they now all live in the USA.
About 34,000 North Koreans have escaped to South Korea over the past two decades. While there has been some media coverage of them, must less attention has been paid to the 200+ North Korean refugees who have resettled in the USA. What are some of the stories? Why have some North Korean refugees first gone to South Korea, then later moved to the USA? And what about North Korean refugees who have gone in the reverse direction, from the USA to South Korea?
Join Freedom Speakers International (FSI) for a virtual international freedom forum on April 3rd, 10 am to 5 pm US EST. We will be joined by four North Korean refugee women who have now resettled in the USA.
The featured speakers:
- Yeonmi Park, author of "In Order to Live" and the host of multiple YouTube channels, including "Voice of North Korea by Yeonmi Park."
- Cherie Yang, TEDx speaker and host of "Dear Cherie."
- Seohyun Lee, co-host of "Pyonghattan."
- Evelyn Jeong, host of the YouTube channel "Evelyn."
The conference will be moderated and hosted by Casey Lartigue, co-president and co-founder of Freedom Speakers International, and host of the YouTube channel Workable Words.
The Zoom link will be sent out 24 hours in advance of this event.
We will be holding a raffle for 10 books by North Korean refugee female authors (Yeonmi Park, Eunsun Kim) who have studied in Freedom Speakers International (formerly TNKR).
