Event description
FRPA May 2022 program will focus on Historic Preservation of Federal Buildings

About this event

Help celebrate National Historic Preservation Month on May 24 with a lunchtime FRPA Panel on Historic Preservation of federal buildings at the offices of Holland & Knight at 800 17th Street NW.

Federal historic preservation requirements apply to approximately one third of GSA’s 1500 owned buildings. Buildings that the government declares surplus and disposes of are also subject to historic preservation requirements. Learn more about the national preservation program and how the government and the private sector balance historic preservation and neighborhood revitalization efforts. Our panelists for the May event include:

• Beth L. Savage, Director, Center for Historic Buildings & GSA Federal Preservation Officer, Office of the Chief Architect

• Brett Banks, Capital Investment Officer, Project Executive, GSA NCR Office of Portfolio Management & Real Estate

• John Lecker, Vice President, Development, Office & Life Sciences Real Estate, Brookfield Properties

• Rebecca Miller, Executive Director, DC Preservation League

The panel will be moderated by Bob Peck, FRPA Board Member, former Commissioner of Public Buildings and Principal at Gensler.

Check-in begins at 11:30. The panel will begin at 12 noon and will be followed by lunch from 1pm to 1:30pm. FRPA events are considered off-the-record and are not for attribution.*
