Description
On Thursday, April 5, NDSU graduate student Lauren Wiese comes to the Comstock House as part of the Hiram M. and Ada M. Drache lecture series to discuss her research on our community's relationship with Red River ice. Today the river's ice is used primarily for recreational purposes, from the Winnipeg skating trail to our local ice fishing. However, Red River ice has given us more than a century of recreation, industry, and natural disaster — and very few remember its stories.
After Lauren's presentation, join us for discussion, light refreshments, and tours of the historic home.
General admission is $5 (Students and HCSCC Members: Free).
