Event description

Description

Frozen Assets Fat Bike "Ride"

Go the extra mile for our lakes and join Clean Lakes Alliance for our Frozen Assets Fat Bike Ride! With large areas of open water on Lake Mendota, the Frozen Assets Fat Bike Race has been moved off the "ice" and onto land... and with a new twist.

Registration

Your registration for this event includes admission to the race and a complementary headlamp. Online registration closes Wednesday, January 30th. The adult registration pricing schedule (17 and older) is listed below.

$50 :: Regular price
$65 :: Same day

Best of all, your registration supports work to protect and improve water quality in our lakes!

New Course

Riders will leave from Law Park and head south on the Capital City Bike Trail, make a loop at McDaniel Park in McFarland, and then head back to Law Park. The full course is 14.25 miles.

"Ride" not a Race

With the safety of all riders in mind, the event is being changed from a race to a "ride." The event will NOT be chip-timed so riders can take their time at intersections. There will be highly visible event support at all three at-grade crossings.

Race Divisions & Acceptable Bikes

Because the ride is being held on pavement instead of the ice, riders in all divisions are allowed to ride ANY type of bike they are comfortable with.

Fat Bike Race: 14.25-mile course, fat bikes only
Open Ride: 14.25-mile course, ANY bike welcome
Junior Ride: 14.25-mile course, ages 10-16, ANY bike welcome

The Festival

The fifth annual Frozen Assets Festival will run on Saturday, February 2nd & Sunday, February 3rd at The Edgewater. As always, this family-friendly daytime event will be FREE and open to all. Learn more at cleanlakesalliance.org/frozen-assets.
