Learn about getting your garden going from University of Florida Faculty and Master Gardener Volunteers at this fun, hands-on event!

About this event

Join us on Friday, January 28th at the UF/IFAS Extension Office in Green Cove Springs, Florida for this event designed to get you started in your garden. Speaking topics include using color in your landscape designs, kokedama, hydroponics, culinary herbs, and orchids. A full speaker list will be added soon.

Pre-registration is required through Eventbrite, no tickets will be sold on-site the day of the event. Refreshments will be provided but please bring a lunch with you, our location is not near any dining establishments.

Doors open at 8:30 am and the agenda is as follows:

8:30-9:00am- Registration and Meet and Greet

9:00-9:45am- Welcome and Grounds Tour

10:00-10:45am- "Gardening with Color"- Dr. Taylor Clem, UF/IFAS Extension Nassau County

11:00-11:45am- "Spring Gardening in Florida"- Dr. Cynthia Nazario-Leary, UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County

11:45-12:15- Lunch (Bring Your Own)

12:15-1:00pm- Workshop #1 (Hydroponics, Orchids, or Culinary Herbs)

1:15-2:00pm- Workshop #2 (Kokedama, Orchids, or Culinary Herbs)

2:15-3:00pm- "Good Bug, Bad Bug"- Wayne Hobbs, UF/IFAS Extension Clay County

3:00-3:30pm-Evaluations and Wrap-up
