From the Author of "A Child Called It", Dave Pelzer Presents: Your Resolve
Tue, April 25, 2017, 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM PDT
April is Child Abuse Awareness month and in efforts to continue to raise awareness and provide opportunities to support our service members and their families, the Family Advocacy Program is proud to host Dave Pelzer and his presentation on YOUR RESOLVE.
Dave Pelzer is a New York Times best selling author and inspirational speaker. A Child Called "It", was on the New York Times Best Sellers List for over 6 years and documents Dave’s extraordinary journey. Dave nearly died several times by the hands of his mentally disturbed alcoholic mother. Years later it was determined that Dave’s case was identified as one of the most gruesome and extreme cases of child abuse in California’s then history. At age 12 Dave was finally rescued and placed in a series of foster homes until he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force at age 18. Even with all that was against him, Dave was determined to better himself - no matter what the odds. Dave’s inspirational work has encouraged countless organizations and millions of individuals.
