Join Dr Brenda Mondragón-Toledo, Teaching Fellow in the Sociology Department, Trinity College Dublin for an introduction to Día de Muertos — the Day of the Dead.

Hear about the origins of Day of the Dead in Mexico and the many ways in which death is commemorated across the country. We will explore how this celebration has its roots in the blending of Mesoamerican cultures and Catholicism. We will also take a closer look at how this day is celebrated in Tlapanalá, Puebla, Mexico.
