The Therapeutic Community Model is an evidence-based residential treatment approach used in a prison setting. The Therapeutic Community is a hierarchical structured and incentive based treatment program for both men and women. In the state of Ohio, Therapeutic Communities are represented in six (6) correctional facilities. In the review, a brief scope of the Model will include specific groups, behavioral interventions, and metrics that are used for behavioral modification with offenders to increase successful reintegration upon release.
