A workshop for individuals and organizations interested in performing research, obtaining funds to support proof of concept and prototype development, and moving successful technologies into the commercial market. Innovative small businesses, entrepreneurs, inventors, research faculty, university department heads, doctoral candidates, and graduate students that are conducting research to develop novel and useful products or services are encouraged to attend.
The SBIR/STTR Program supports scientific excellence and technological innovation through the investment of federal research funds in vitally important American priorities which help build a strong economy. Program funding supports our nation’s best early-stage innovation ideas, those ventures demonstrating extraordinary promise, yet considered too risky for private investors and venture capital firms.
This training will be provided by Jim Greenwood, a nationally recognized SBIR/STTR consultant who has helped hundreds of firms improve their proposals and successfully compete for SBIR and STTR awards. In addition to proposal preparation instruction, the workshop includes an overview of the SBIR/STTR Programs, information about the review process, updates on the Program, research commercialization plans, cost accounting, and audits for award recipients. Louisiana state assistance for SBIR/STTR proposal development as well as NASA projects will be highlighted.
The first 35 paid attendees will be eligible for a FREE SBIR/STTR proposal review by Greenwood Consulting for up to one year from the workshop date, subject to availability. Seating is limited and advance registration is recommended. The registration fee also includes a workbook and lunch. Early bird registrations received by March 1 will be $15. Advance registration of $25 must be submitted by March 18. Registration at the door will be $30.
