Event description

Description

A workshop for white teachers and administrators who want to increase their understanding of their own racial identity and to expand their strategies for increasing equity in schools. Concepts such as racial microaggressions and aversive racism will be explored in-depth. We will discuss how to engage with white guilt and shame, and practice interrupting racially problematic situations. Participants will leave the workshop with both a better sense of the theory as well as classroom content and pedagogy for challenging racism and creating healthy, engaged classrooms where children and adults can bring all of themselves to their learning and teaching.
