We are pleased to present Friends from Afghanistan: The Refugee Experience in Western Massachusetts a panel discussion on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 featuring Nazifa Hassan Safie, Safieullah Safie, and Amran Faith, all of whom came to Western Massachusetts in the fall of 2021 after evacuating Afghanistan. Dianne Fuller Doherty will moderate.
The event take place at Valley Venture Mentors, 276 Bridge Street in downtown Springfield at 5:30 pm beginning with a light halal supper followed by the program.

- All attendees must register and pay in advance. No walk-ins.
- Every attendee will be required to present proof of vaccination for COVID before entering the program space. This can be a photograph or photocopy of your vaccination record card.
- Every attendee who wishes to wear a mask is welcome to do so.
- If you are not feeling well on the day of the event, please do not attend. We will make our refund policies as liberal as possible.

Registration is for the in-person event. Council board member Jeremy Cole and his company, Jdcole-TV, will be providing the equipment and personnel to stream the panel on YouTube Live. A link will be sent out to everyone on our mailing list closer to the date of the event. You can view the program live or stream a recording of the event at a later time on the World Affairs Council of Western Massachusetts’s YouTube channel.
