You are invited to the Annual Meeting of the Friends of the Chesterfield County Public Library!

The featured presenter will be Dr. Bert Ashe. Dr. Ashe is a professor of English at the University of Richmond. In his latest book Twisted: My Dreadlock Chronicles (Agate, 2015), Dr. Ashe explores issues of black male identity, black vernacular culture, and black hair by narrating the journey of locking his hair while also exploring the history and cultural resonances of the dreadlock hairstyle in America.

6:30 PM: Private reception for Friends members with Bert Ashe. Free for Friends members and $10 for non-Friends members. *Doors open for Friends members at 6:00 PM.*

7:15 PM: Presentation by Bert Ashe, followed by the Friends annual meeting. This is free and open to the public!
