Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

Please support us in our work of building Hawaiian culture and hula in Chicago. Make a commitment to our multi-year funding program called Friends of the Halau. Friends of the Halau has four categories:

  • POHAKU - $1000/year for 3 years. Pohaku means rock or stone. Pohaku is the foundation for the Islands of Hawaii.
  • KALO - $500/year for 3 years. Kalo means taro, the staple food of the Hawaiian people and is so important to us that Kalo is also called our "Older Brother."
  • HONU - $250/year for 3 years. Honu is a revered 'aumakua (guardian spirit) which brings long life, peace and good fortune.
  • MENEHUNE - $100/year for 3 years. Menehune are a legendary race of people who worked together at night to build huge fishponds, road and temples in Hawaii.

Or make a One-time Contribution. We appreciate any amount that you contribute because it will help us grow and enliven the Hawaiian culture in Chicago. Mahalo (thank you) for your goodness!
