Greenfingers: Habitat Restoration at McClellan Ranch Preserve

Who: Volunteers of all ages are welcome; minors under 18 require a signed waiver and children under 12 require an accompanying adult unless prior approval is obtained from the workday supervisor. Groups may contact Jeremy Merckling for their own special program dates/hours.

What: Volunteers help with habitat restoration work such as:

  • Removing invasive plants
  • Mulching
  • Installing native plants
  • Plus, this is a good opportunity to do a bit of wildlife watching and learn about our local native plants

Where: Meet near the main parking lot at McClellan Ranch Preserve, 22221 McClellan Road in Cupertino.

Parking: Please park in the dirt field accessed from McClellan Road on the other side of the creek from the main park entrance.

Please bring:

  • A reusable water bottle
  • Dress for outdoor work (sturdy shoes and long pants recommended)
  • Minors under 18 must bring a waiver form signed by a parent
  • We provide gloves and tools

**If you registered and can no longer attend, please email: jeremy@grassrootsecology.org**

Grassroots Ecology

The Acterra Stewardship Program is now Grassroots Ecology! We work to restore degraded habitats to promote healthier, more biologically diverse ecosystems, and use habitat restoration as a vehicle to educate and inspire adults and youth to understand and appreciate the natural world - both its beauty and the important services it provides.
