Homeless youth are not always self-evident; because of the stigma, many students can go months or years without sharing with others that they are living in a shelter or on the streets.
Learn about the issues facing homeless youth of NYC and what you and your program can do to support them. Many homeless youth have experienced family abuse, violence, rejection, and instability that led to their homelessness and struggle to survive physical and emotional harm on a daily basis.
Facilitator: Carolyn Strudwick, Associate Vice President of Youth Services.
Ms. Strudwick holds a Master of Social Work degree and has more than 23 years of experience working with homeless youth in a variety of progressive positions at Streetwork, starting as a Case Manager conducting street outreach and counseling.
