About this event

Follow in Frida’s footsteps!

Through the magic of technology, travel to Mexico City from the comfort of your own home where we'll discover some of the places that were important to this great Mexican artist. You'll be in the company of a knowledgeable guide who can tell you about the history and significance of these places and answer any questions you may have.

Frida Kahlo overcame many challenges. She broke taboos and challenged beliefs about what it means to be a woman and an artist, remaining true to her authentic self-expression. And she continues to inspire today! We'll have the opportunity to look more deeply into her life and work by visiting some of the places in Mexico City that were important to her.

We'll visit San Ildefonso, the school where she was studying when she first met Diego Rivera as he painted his very first mural. We'll go to the two homes where she lived, La Casa Azul, her family home which is now the Frida Kahlo House Museum, as well as the "twin" homes designed for her and Diego by Juan O'Gorman, now the Casa Estudio Diego Rivera Frida Kahlo as well as several other important places throughout the city. We'll explore these places through archival photos as well as modern-day photos and 360-degree images, and discuss how they influenced her life and work.

Whether you’ve visited Mexico City before and would like to revisit, had to cancel a trip because of lockdowns, or it’s on your bucket list, it may be a while until you can plan your next trip. In the meantime, join us for the Frida Kahlo's Mexico City Virtual Tour.

We're limiting the number of spots to keep the groups small so there will be time for interaction and questions.

This virtual tour will be conducted via Zoom. You'll need a device with Zoom installed, and an internet connection with the bandwidth to stream audio and video in order to participate. A link and details on how to join will be included in your booking confirmation email.
