About this Event

Course Overview:

Course: Introduction to the Standardized Emergency Management System (SEMS), incorporating the principles of ICS-100, ICS-700 and Emergency Preparedness.

This course will provide basic instruction in the following topics:

  • Standardized Emergency Management System (SEMS).
  • What is Emergency preparedness?
  • What types of events we need to prepare for.
  • Roles and Responsibilities as a County Employee.
  • Principles of ICS-100 and ICS-700

Course Objectives:

  • To introduce employees to the Standardized Emergency Management System (SEMS).
  • To educate employees in the roles and responsibilities they have as County employees (where you fit in).

The Standardized Emergency Management System (SEMS) Introductory Course is encouraged of all County Employees.

As an employee of Fresno County, we are all designated Disaster Service Workers under section 3100 of the State’s Government Code. As a Disaster Service Worker, any one of us can be assigned to activities outside of our normal job functions in the management of a disaster. That is why SEMS is important.
