Actions and Detail Panel
Fresno Cannabis & Hemp Conference
Wed, April 26, 2017, 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM PDT
The first annual Fresno Cannabis and Hemp Conference will cover key issues in cannabis and hemp regulation. You'll learn about the Medical Cannabis Regulation and Safety Act (MCRSA), the Adult Use of Marijuana Act (AUMA/Prop. 64) and how those two state laws intersect with local ordinances in Fresno County.
The conference kicks off with a 10 a.m. screening of “Bringing It Home,” an award-winning documentary that examines hemp cultivation in the United Kingdom and other industrialized nations. The screening will take place in the John W. Dodson Theater at Bitwise Industries, the technological hub of downtown Fresno. A panel discussion on opportunities and challenges for state-licensed hemp cultivation in the Central Valley will follow.
The afternoon session will provide an overview of two new and important state cannabis laws, the Medical Cannabis Regulation and Safety Act (MCRSA) and the Adult Use of Marijuana Act (AUMA). Representatives from the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board, Dept. of Fish and Wildlife, Dept. of Pesticide Regulation and other state agencies are among the invited presenters. The second panel will focus on key differences between medical and adult-use consumers.
