About this event

Fresh Voices @ Trinity presents: Seeking the Sacred in Our Broken World: A Conversation with Nadia Bolz-Weber

Saturday November 13, 2021, 7:30PM, in person and online event

Fresh Voices @ Trinity is a conversation series featuring leading speakers who offer new and provocative perspectives by reflecting on their sources of inspiration.

Nadia Bolz-Weber

Nadia Bolz-Weber is an author, Lutheran minister and public theologian. In August 2021, she was installed as the first pastor of public witness for the largest Lutheran denomination in the United States. She is a New York Times bestselling author and has been called “a pastor for America’s outsiders” (BBC). Bolz-Weber is the first to attest that she doesn’t look like most people’s idea of a pastor, but the community of faith she founded in Denver, Colorado—House for All Sinners and Saints—is a haven for a diverse community seeking affirmation and acceptance. In her books and talks, Bolz-Weber makes the deeply felt argument that honesty and human connection are key to creating and sustaining community. Bolz-Weber has been featured in The New Yorker, The Washington Post, NPR’s Morning Edition, Fresh Air, More, and on CNN and the BBC World Service. Her latest project is a new podcast, The Confessional with Nadia Bolz-Weber, a partnership with PRX and The Moth, a celebration of human transformation that normalizes conversations about shame. Bolz-Weber speaks on spirituality and faith; friendship and community; life purpose and activism; self-care, shame, and the body; recovery and self-awareness; sex and intimacy; health and wellness; and leadership and authority.
