Event description

Description

So many of you were disappointed when you heard that you were wait-listed for our French Macarons baking class. To bring a smile to your face, Chef Steven Stutz is offering a second session of this wildly popular class! What is a macaron, you ask? Is it that coconut cookie my Grandma’s bakes? Mais non! Macarons are a French confection made from a simple batter of egg whites, confectioners’ sugar, ground almonds, and a couple of other ingredients. The batter is piped into circles and baked into light, chewy meringue shells. Once baked, the magic happens after the shells are filled with ganache, jam-infused buttercream, etc., and sandwiched together to create the most beautiful cookie! Chef Steven Stutz serves macarons at Sweet Endeavors, his shop at the University Park Mall, where they are a huge hit! We are so lucky that Chef Steve is willing to share his tricks of the trade with us! Join us for an evening of outstanding teaching as you learn the technique for making these magnificent macaron shell flavors: Cocoa, Chai Tea, and Peanut Butter. Whip up some fillings such as: peanut butter buttercream, raspberry buttercream, and chocolate ganache to use to fill your shells. Sample macarons in class and take some home. Please bring your own whisk, rubber spatula, and a mixing bowl.
