No, we cannot instantly transport you to a dimly lit Parisian brasserie in the 18th Arrondissement, where you nestle in a cozy banquette for hours, immersed in red wine and conversation. We can, however, show you how fun and easy it can be to replicate traditional French bistro menus in your home kitchen with easily available ingredients. Stop by tonight and learn the culinary tricks behind such effortlessly elegant yet satisfying dishes. (Slightly aloof French waitress and skinny cigarettes not included.)
On the Menu: Julia Child’s Classic Onion Soup; Chicken with 40 Cloves of Garlic; Gratin Dauphinois; Sautéed Green Beans with Garlic and Lemon; French Apple Cake.
