Freedom Walk Buffalo 2014
Saturday, April 5, 2014 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM (PDT)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Slavery is real and it's happening in our communities.
There are a little over 8 million people in New York City. Imagine NYC for a moment. All of the people. Now what if I told you that the amount of slaves in the world today is over three times the population of New York City. That's right, experts estimate that there are around 27 MILLION slaves in the world today. This is a big issue. Last December there was a minor being prostituted against her will across the street from University at Buffalo North Campus. This huge issue is a problem right in our backyard.
Please come join us on April 5th for a seminar and 5k awareness walk to help our community become aware and educated on such an important issue! There will be a testimony by a survivor abolitionist, law enforcement, and a questions panel with representatives from local human trafficking abolition organizations. Last year over 150 people came together to be a voice for the voiceless, and we look forward to coming together once again!
If you are interested in coming as a group to fundraise and stand united, please click here for poster to download and click here for group marketing suggestions. Donations will be given to the United Hands of Hope House, a local anti-trafficking organization. We look forward to seeing you on the first Saturday of April!
