“Come share the experience of African-American History, American History, and Islamic History like you’ve never experienced before.”

This program includes among many things a screening of the “New Roots” movie produced 2017 by History Channel, the debut of our new dramatic theatre productions “Sojourner Truth: Forgotten Roots” featuring Jasmine Morrison, and “Bilali Muhammad-Almamy of Sapelo Island GA” portrayed by Malcolm Clark. Additional special event activity includes fine arts demo and exhibit by Philadelphia painter Keisha D. Whately who specializes in portraits of famous historical African-American female figures. Keisha will debut her “special edition portrait” of “Sojourner Truth: Forgotten Roots”. She will also do a “live” painting demonstration that will be inspirational to our audiences, young and old. The event culminates in the feature finale performance of “The Life & Times of Omar ibn Sayyid-18th Century Dramatic Slave Reenactment.” This will be a truly unforgettable event.

While supplies last we also give away FREE “Civil War 150 Educators Guide” and “Teaching the Civil War in the 21st Century” to registered adults, courtesy of our sponsors UPF-TV and History A&E.
