Event description

Description

Ferry Street has some of the most statuesque and beautiful homes in Midtown. This historic district in the Cultural Center sits near the Detroit Historical Museum and the Detroit Institute of Arts and is historic and a work of art itself.

However, there is a striking history of African American activists, businessmen and women, organizations, schools and events that are a part of Ferry Street's legacy and are important in understanding Detroit's African American History.

Please join historian and Tour Leader Jamon Jordan as he leads a tour of this highly important street in the Cultural Center.

We meet in the lobby of the Detroit Historical Museum on Saturday, September 29, at 4pm.

We will walk about 1 mile in total for this walking tour.
