Event description
We are doing what we love, to fight what we hate.

About this Event

If you are “California dreaming,” we have the perfect hike for you. Come be part of the original hike for Freedom Hikers; its first California hike, proudly sponsoring Rescue Freedom. The date of the hike will be on Saturday, September 21st, with check-in on Friday, September 20th. This signature, custom hike, a 15-mile trek, will take you through some of Yosemite’s most beautiful parts, with its breathtaking views. To see images of where we will be hiking, click here - https://lastingadventures.com/guide-service/yosemite/day-hikes/mist-trail-panorama-trail-glacier-point-4-mile-trail/.

We will be hiking in groups of 15, each team, anchored by a seasoned experienced hiker. This is a co-ed, mid-level endurance hike. If you have never hiked before, don’t let that stop you. If you are willing to put in the time to train and prepare, you will be able to do this! Our fun leadership team will be here to help you with training tips in preparation for the hike, along with group calls to encourage and cheer you on as you prepare with us to hit the trailhead this fall.

The purpose of this historic hike is to both raise funds and awareness for Rescue Freedom International. Rescue Freedom exists to empower the rescue and restoration of women and children suffering in sexual slavery. With partner sites in five countries, they have touched the lives of over 48,000 women and children. Due to generosity of two private donors, Rescue Freedom administrative costs have been covered so that 100% of what we raise on the mountain will go straight into the field to help others be freed! To learn more about Rescue Freedom’s efforts, click here https://rescuefreedom.org/.

Friday, September 20th, we will gather at 6:30PM for a sponsored welcome dinner of an Italian feast at a home on the west side of Yosemite. You will get to have dinner with your team, pick up your swag bag (Yes, get one of these. It will have cool stuff in it), and go over final logistics together for our hike the following morning. The actual hike is on Saturday, September 21st. We leave at 6:00AM and the hike should take most of the day. We will have a purposeful day of freeing people’s lives and hiking adventure; with a group dinner under the stars that you will talk about for years to come.

Please read the following physical requirements and expectations before signing up.

Who are the organizers behind this hike? Well, that would be us; three Texans, Jen Loyall, Austin Dial, and Megan Clower. We are passionate about Rescue Freedom and are Northern California hikers. We can’t wait to meet you, get to know you, and train with you. We will do everything we can to make this a hike of a lifetime for you. We will be there hiking alongside you, cheering you on, keeping you safe, and making sure you are having fun! This will be a day you never forget. Nor will the souls, you freed, with proceeds we raised together from this historic climb. Be the person that makes history and join us. The souls of your feet will affect the soul of another human being on the other side of the world, freeing them literally from slavery. You will never be the same. Nor will they.

See you at the welcome dinner on September 20th. We have a place at the table for you.

Team California,

Jen Austin Megan
