FREE Youth Fishing Derby at Jericho Lake Park, Aurora

Enjoy a day of fishing with family, food, and prizes! The Illinois Department of Natural Resources and Fox Valley Park District welcomes all ages and skill levels to attend this FREE family-friendly event.

Prizes will be awarded to youth by age group with free hot dogs, chips, beverages, and a variety of giveaways available. Additionally, the Kane County Health Department will be on-site with all Covid-19 vaccines available—Janssen, Moderna and Pfizer—for ages 12 years or older. Those ages 12 to 17 years who receive the Pfizer vaccine will receive two free tickets to Six Flags Great America Theme Park in Gurnee!

Fishing poles will be made available to those youth in need, and all youth participants will have an opportunity to win raffle prizes. Other activities include visiting with a naturalist from the Kane County Forest Preserve District and an opportunity to view animal hides and pelts at the Illinois Conservation Police's Wildlife Education Trailer.
