Event description

Description

The Technology Alliance is offering a one-day training for teachers who wish to teach app development to middle and high school students. The free Youth Apps curriculum can be offered as part of an in-school class or after school program. Read on for more information and to sign up!

This program offers an ideal way to get students interested in computer science and entrepreneurship, allowing them to plan out and even design their own mobile app for tablets or smartphones.

The training will teach instructors the process of app development from idea generation to prototyping to app building using App Inventor, a free tool used for building Android-based apps.

  • Cost: Free, lunch is provided
  • Bring: Please bring a laptop and an Android tablet and/or smartphone if you have one. We will have some tablets on-hand as well.
  • Requirements: No computer science experience is required.
  • Where: PSESD Conference Center--Parking onsite.
  • Clock hours are available.

For more information, contact Marisa Vitiello at apps@technology-alliance.com. Additional information about the Technology Alliance and Youth Apps Challenge is online.
