Description

Happy New Year from Rutgers!

It's estimated that
75% of all health care dollars spent in the US are for the treatment of chronic diseases that can be managed or improved simply by making lifestyle changes. Diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, obesity, and cancer are among the conditions that can be positively impacted by modifying behavior. But understanding the need to make a healthy lifestyle change and actually making it happen
are two different things. Behavior change takes motivation, planning, readiness, and a clear goal.

If this is your year to make a permanent move toward a healthier, more vibrant lifestyle, this is the workshop for you.

In this workshop we will explore:

* Change process

* Intrinsic vs. external motivation

* The importance of living according to your personal value system

* The components of a S.M.A.R.T. goal

* Strategies for dealing with setbacks

Worksheets will be provided for in-session exercises, but participants may also want to bring a notebook for taking additional notes.

Lynn Crimando, MA, is a Yoga Therapist and Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach.
