Event description

Description

Vancouver's False Creek and Kitsilano districts are true examples of what a green cityscape could look like. From tree-lined corridors to ancient conifers to urban farms and community gardens, we'll show you Vancouver's green thumb and introduce you to some of the nicest public spaces in the neighborhood.

Every tour is different, but some highlights will include:

  • The Granville Island Public Market, a huge covered market selling all sorts of artisanal food and craft products
  • The Arbutus Greenway, an old railway being converted into Vancouver's longest public park
  • Lots of community gardens, boulevard gardens, and super-green backyards
  • City Farmer, an urban garden that's been running since the 1970's
  • The picturesque Arbutus Coffee House which was once an old market storefront
  • Some awesome green businesses that are making Vancouver a better place

Tours meet every Saturday and Sunday at 10:00am in front of the Granville Island Public Market at 1669 Johnston St., at the SouthEast entrance.

Look for the tour guide with the green umbrella!

Remember, this is a free tour, but our guides work for tips! If we did a good job and you enjoyed your time with us, please help us continue doing what we do with a donation at the end of the tour to your awesome guide!
