Meeting Location: Gaulbert Pavilion at Big Rock area of Cherokee Park. Parking lot available at Gaulbert Pavilion.

Distance: Less than 1 mile, mostly on uneven ground, including grassy areas and a natural trail.

Duration: 90 minutes.

Price: Free to the public

Tour Description: Join Olmsted Parks Conservancy’s certified tour guide Denise Davis for the last in a series of walking tours in Cherokee Park. As soon as Frederick Law Olmsted saw Beargrass Creek winding its ways around the hills of Cherokee Park, he was convinced that this would become one of America's most beautiful city parks (and he was not wrong!). On this tour, learn about our creek, its history, its relationship to people and its unique needs.

Tour Notes: Wear comfortable walking shoes, bring a water bottle, and meet 10 minutes prior to tour start. Children accompanied by adults and leashed dogs are welcome! Tour meets rain or shine but may be cancelled in the event of severe weather.
