Description
Tour the Ventura BioCenter facility and also do a hands-on lesson utilizing gel electrophoresis technology. Ventura BioCenter is a biotechnology business incubator providing facilities and support services for local start up companies. School field trips to the Ventura BioCenter afford students the opportunity to learn about careers in the field of biotechnology as well as to participate in hands-on trainings in one or more technologies.
FREE Registration Includes Refreshments and Raffle Prizes!
This event is appropriate for:
- 5-12th grade teachers who are potentially interested in taking their students on a field trip to the VC BioCenter
- Formal and informal educators who are interested in learning more about biotechnologies like gel electrophoresis (DNA fingerprinting)
- Community members who want to learn more about the Biotechnology industry and how incubators like the VC BioCenter help support this industry (however, please note that teachers and informal educators at museums, etc have priority registration if this event fills up)
