Description

JOIN OUR 1st Bethallyn Black's URBAN FARMING CLASS!

Our Farm is Modeled After the Kaiser's Singing Frogs Farm. That's a photo of Singing Frogs Farm above and we want our farm to look like that and follow their principles. See http://www.singingfrogsfarm.com/our-farming-model.html

Learn biointensive organic urban farming and permaculture methods that you can use in your own backyard. Professor and lifelong organic farmer Bethallyn Black is a Master Gardener and Permaculture expert, with a Masters in Agroecology. Bethallyn is the Pied Piper of organic farming and gardening. She will teach our 1st and only 2018 farm class on how to work with urban soils, lay out and build planting beds, install drip irrigation, determine what seeds to plant, when and how, & discuss the benefits of inter-cropping and how and when to sow cover crops.

We are modeling our farm after Paul and Elizabeth Kaiser's amazing Singing Frogs Farms (their photo above), using no till, organic, inter-cropping, hedge rows, integrated-pest-management and more.Learn Bethallyn's version of the Singing Frogs Farm methods. Next, you can go take a class with the Kaisers at their farm in Sebastopol! We'll tell you how to contact the Kaisers.

Irrigation expert Seth Wright will be there to help us install drip lines and to teach you about the irrigation system for the farm.

You won't want to miss this unique opportunity. Wear comfortable clothes, a hat and sunscreen. Bring gloves, shovel, rake, spade and any other relevant tools. Put your name tag on your tools, please. Plan to have fun and get dirty! Class starts at 8 a.m. We will serve snacks and lunch at noon. You will have fun and make new friends!

Please sign up on Eventbrite so we know how many people are coming! Bring your friends. Youth are welcome with their parents. This will be fun and you will be part of building our amazing community farm!
