Event description

Description

Mountain Rose Herbs, a Eugene, Oregon based business specializing in the distribution of entirely organic herbal products, is guided by a commitment to sustainability in every aspect of their business. In 2010, the company relocated its Eugene facility to 3.5 acres adjacent to the Stewart Pond Wildlife Refuge in a building originally designed by TBG Architects which meets LEED green building standards. The acquisition of this building reflects Mountain Rose'’s ongoing prioritization of reducing environmental impacts, and features daylighting, creative energy resource management techniques, and on-site stormwater management in a large and carefully managed bioswale populated with native plant species. The building itself supports many of Mountain Rose's internal sustainability initiatives, such as providing plentiful parking for the many bicycle commuters on staff.

Come tour this zero waste certified facility with Eugene's Cascadia Green Building Council members from 12-1PM on Tuesday, September 12th, with Shawn Donnille, co-owner of Mountain Rose Herbs.
