Event Details

Postpartum depression is said to be the #1 complication from childbirth, according to Postpartum Support International (PSI).  Research shows that 50% - 70% of newborn moms and 10% of newborn dads will experience some type of postpartum mood disorder. This disorder can occur anytime in pregnancy, or during the first year after the birth of your baby. Some women experience depression while others have extreme anxiety. You are not alone!

Baptist Behavioral Health & Women's Services offer a FREE monthly support group for mothers of newborns (biological or adoptive) who are experiencing any type of perinatal or postpartum mood issue.  This may include, but is not limited to: sadness, tearfulness, excessive worry, difficluty sleeping, changes in appetite, irritability, lack of bonding, anxiety and any other change in mood or behavior.  Here, you will receive support from others with similar experiences as well as be taught skills to help alleviate symptoms.

This will be an on-going group held for one hour twice per month. There is no charge but space is limited so please register each time you wish to attend.  Register early as space is limited.

You do not have to be a Baptist Health patient-all are welcome to attend our group!

One hour group session, 1st & 3rd Friday of every month from 12-1:00 pm.

This group is for any mother experiencing Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorder during pregnancy or anytime during the baby's first year.

Due to limited seating, registration is required.

Group is facilitated by a Licensed Mental Health Therapist (LMHT) with special training in perinatal mood disorders.
