Description

A Seat at the Table is an annual, networking dinner for scholars, entrepreneurs, community organizers, teachers, community members, and activists in the Philadelphia region. The dinner is specifically designed to facilitate productive communication between individuals living in the community and those working in the criminal justice field. By having a Seat at the Table, Free Reign Ignite Creativity aims to establish a clear level of understanding of the issues plauging many communities through open dialogue and discussion.

The 2017 theme is Mass Incarceration and Criminal Justice Reform. Our guest speakers will be covering topics including the history of mass incarceration, the present state of mass incarceration, re-entry for returning citizens, at risk youth, and much more.

Guest Speakers to include:

  • Sean KelleySenior Vice President, Director of Interpretation and Public Programming at Eastern State Penitentiary Historic Site

  • Jondhi HarrellJust Leadership USA Fellow 2016, Executive Director of the Center for Returning Citizens

Combing the expertise of our guest speakers with open-table discussions, we will develop possible solutions to the issues of Mass Incarceration and Criminial Justice Reform.
