Free Online Talk: Ending Plastic Pollution
Event Information
About this Event
Over 8.3 billion tonnes of plastic has been created across the globe and the rate of new plastic being made is set to double over the next twenty years. Too many of our products come in single use, unrecyclable plastic, and too much of that is ending up in our oceans. What are the worst offending items? What can we all do to reduce our plastic waste? Is living a plastic-free life as hard as it might sound?
We'll be joined by Jo Morley of City To Sea to discuss all that her organisation is doing to cut plastic pollution, including providing practical solutions, influencing changes in behaviour and championing reuse over single use. We'll also have contributions from owner of Clifton village-based zero waste shop Smaller Footprints, Grant Mercer.
If you enjoy the event or feel you get something useful out of it, please make a donation to support our future events and our climate/ecological work. Donations made within 24 hours of any lecture to paypal.me/cliftonclimateaction will be divided equally between the two host groups.
Check out both groups via their websites - www.cliftonclimateaction.org and www.bcrenergygroup.org - and watch videos of our previous talks via www.youtube.com/channel/UCJhmbRaAHFKw29LaMpP1sXw/videos.
