Free Movement, Workers Rights - The Europe We Want To See!
An invitation to meet the European Left Party
Speakers - Heinz Bierbaum is a member of Die Linke, the German left party. He is an active trade unionist and an elected member of the Saarland regional parliament where he is Die Linke's economic policy spokesperson.
Waltrud Fritz is a member of the European Left Party Executive Board. She is a political activist from Austria with a strong record of international solidarity and action.
There is a growing alternative nationalism, xenophobia and austerity being built across Europe. The European Left Party comprises over forty organisations that defend free movement, workers’ rights and the environment. Its European Parliamentary group has 52 MEPs in the European Parliament. You don’t hear about this in the capitalist press?
Come and hear and discuss with representatives of the European Left Party in Manchester. Here is an opportunity to build a radical left movement across Europe, tackle neoliberal EU economic policies and campaign for the democratic self-organisation of the oppressed. How do we challenge conservative and social democratic austerity parties across Europe and the fascists in each separate state who are gloating over Brexit? How do we build this movement with the trades unions and anti-capitalist, anti-nationalist organisations?
There is an alternative. It requires left unity across Europe.
Join us from 6.30pm - There will be a light buffet and tea and coffee.
