Event description

Description

Please join us on the upcoming Cascadia Informational Tour with the EWEB Roosevelt Building. Sustainability, value, and function were the primary goals in constructing the new operations Center for the Eugene Water and Electric Board, with an emphasis on water and electricity as their driving ethos.

This new operations center is on track to achieve LEED Gold Certification! Some of the systems included on the construction project were:solar hot water heating, heat recovery systems, radiant heating, service fluid piping, vehicle wash system, and an eco-machine. An eco-machine recovers all waste and storm water for reuse with no water leaving the site. Learn more about this unique on-site wastewater treatment feature that is considered one of the biggest assets to the project.

The site features multitude of uses from offices to shop spaces for the repair and testing of electrical and water equipment, warehouse functions, and repair facilities for the utility’s vehicles. It also contains a significant wetland habitat, which was of great importance to the project team as it worked on the Roosevelt Operations Center during its construction phase.

Sign up for this FREE walking tour led by John Marshall, the Facility Maintenance Crew Leader.

This is a FREE event, but please RSVP as seats are limited. The event will be at the EWEB Roosevelt Operations Building at 4200 Roosevelt Blvd Eugene Oregon 97402. Feel free to bring your lunch.
