FREE Homeowners & Flood Insurance Workshops: Canarsie
Event Information
Description
Every homeowner knows what they pay for homeowners insurance. In this workshop, they learn what they're paying FOR (and what they're not)." --Elizabeth Malone
In this FREE, small-group workshop, insurance specialist Elizabeth Malone of nonprofit NHS Brooklyn will:
-
provide an overview of homeowner's insurance and flood insurance, and how to calculate them properly
-
analyze each homeowner's policy to determine if he or she is over-insured (and so paying too much) or under-insured (and so at risk of an ugly surprise if an uncovered event occurs).
-
let each homeowner know how to work with their insurance agent to request a policy adjustment. If a homeowner's policy premium is lowered, the homeowner's mortgage payment usually also goes down.
Please bring your homeowner's insurance policy to the workshop, and your flood insurance policy, if you have one.
Choose the date that works best for your schedule. All workshops take place at 3pm at NHS Brooklyn, East Flatbush Office, 2806 Church Avenue (Between Nostrand and Rogers Avenues), Brooklyn, NY 11226.
These workshops are offered every month by NHS Brooklyn (formerly NHS of East Flatbush), a housing nonprofit that has been serving the community since 1982. For more information about NHS Brooklyn's services and upcoming events, visit www.nhsbrooklyn.org or call 718-469-4679.
