In this FREE, small-group workshop, insurance specialist Elizabeth Malone of nonprofit NHS Brooklyn will:

• provide an overview of homeowner's insurance and flood insurance, and how to calculate them properly

• analyze each homeowner's policy to determine if he or she is over-insured (and so paying too much) or under-insured (and so at risk of an ugly surprise if an uncovered event occurs).

• let each homeowner know how to work with their insurance agent to request a policy adjustment. If a homeowner's policy premium is lowered, the homeowner's mortgage payment usually also goes down.

Please bring your homeowner's insurance policy to the workshop, and your flood insurance policy, if you have one.
