Legal Aid of North Carolina's free Health Care Power of Attorney and Living Wills clinic teaches participants how to complete a Health Care Power of Attorney and/or Living Will document on their own. Participants receive the necessary legal forms, they watch an instructional video, and then they can ask general questions to a volunteer attorney through the webinar. Specific legal advice for individual cases is not provided at these clinics.
Clinics are located in many NC counties. If you do not see a clinic in your city or county, please check the surrounding counties in your area. The packet from the clinic is located online at www.lawhelpnc.org.
Legal Aid does assist with some HCPOA and Living Wills documents outside of the clinic. You can call our Helpline directly to go through a screening to see if you qualify for additional assistance. The number is 866-219-5262.
