Why Klimt? Who is Klimt?

Just as the Impressionists put Paris on the map, innovative painter Gustav Klimt and his fellow artists did the same for Vienna. This year, 2018, Vienna and other international capitals are celebrating a 100th year anniversary tribute to Klimt and his Viennese Modernist colleagues.

Gustav Klimt, the inspiration for our show, led this important art movement, which rebelled against the classical style of painting prevalent in Europe at the time. This movement set new standards for portraiture, landscape paintings, and abstraction. Fellow artists included Oskar Kokoschka, Egon Schiele, Josef Hoffma
nn, Otto Wagner, and Koloman Moser.

Experience art that is beautiful, provocative, and lavish...and unlike paintings and jewelry you will see elsewhere. See the expression of our artists’ fascination with these Viennese artists take form in the works created for this show. As an added feature of this exhibition, participating artists will give talk/demos on three Saturdays during the show's run.
