Includes an evening of clips and conversation with Taylor Kitsch and Toronto International Film Festival artistic director Cameron Bailey
Canadian actor Taylor Kitsch was born in Kelowna, British Columbia and was raised in Vancouver. His big break came when he landed a regular role as troubled football star Tim Riggins on the Emmy-winning weekly drama Friday Night Lights. During hiatus from the show, he shot the major motion picture X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) and the true-life drama The Bang Bang Club (2010). After starring in the highly-anticipated action film John Carter (2012), Kitsch powered on, landing roles in other big films like Battleship (2012) based on the popular board game of the same name, Oliver Stone's Savages (2012) and Peter Berg's Lone Survivor (2013). Kitsch went on to star in the acclaimed The Normal Heart (2014) and is currently lighting up the small screen in the acclaimed series True Detective

Featuring clips from Kitsch's career.
In the first-ever collaboration between Film Independent at LACMA and TIFF, three films were chosen from carefully curated groups of the top films produced in Canada (the Canada's Top Ten Film Festival as well as Canada's All-Time Top Ten.) The exciting new presentation spotlights films and conversations that highlight the diverse, creative talent of Canadian filmmakers, offering directorial perspectives that are both idiosyncratic and universal.
